The Noel Fairweather Scholarship The Noel Fairweather Scholarship was established to honour the memory of the late Noel Fairweather for his love of youth and his knowledge of the hardships that rural students face when pursuing their academic career away from home. The scholarship is now valued at $2,000 and is for students living in rural areas, who are completing their secondary education. It is hoped The Noel Fairweather Memorial Trust will assist young people establishing themselves in a new environment as they begin their tertiary studies. This scholarship is only applicable to South Australian students residing in rural areas. Applicants need to be finishing their secondary schooling and intending to travel away from home to pursue further education. The Scholarship is not necessarily awarded for “academic brilliance” but is aimed at helping those who might otherwise not be able to pursue further education without some financial help. Applications can be directed to The Freemasons Foundation, 262 Grange Road, Flinders Park SA 5025, telephone 8443 9909. It is requested that the form be returned by the beginning of February and then confirmation through phone or email (masfound@masonic-foundation.asn.au) their University or TAFE placement if not already known.
